Level 2 Understanding Nutrition and Health

This qualification is ideal for a wide range of learners with some existing knowledge of this area who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating. Parents, carers, catering staff and students may find this qualification of particular benefit. This course takes 12 weeks to complete and consists of 3 written assessments.

This course is currently being subsidised by the college so that you can enrol for the course free of charge.

Courses are only free to people who have lived in England for the past 3 yrs, are aged 19 years or over and are not currently accessing any other government funded training.
Please note there is a non-completion fee of £85 if you have to be withdrawn from the course.

The following units are the outline for this course.
  1. Unit 1 Explore principles of healthy eating
  2. Unit 2 Consider nutritional needs of a variety individuals
  3. Unit 3 Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
  4. Unit 4 The principles of weight management
  5. Unit 5 Understanding eating disorders
  6. Unit 6 Principles of food safety for the home environment

Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.

If you are unsure of your level of literacy please read the attached instructions to undertake a literacy assessment on line.

This will take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
