Level 2 Cleaning Knowledge and Skills

This aim of this qualification is to give you a thorough introduction to a variety of topics fundamental to working in the cleaning sector. You will develop your awareness of the techniques needed to undertake core cleaning tasks. This course takes 12 weeks to complete and consists of 3 written assessments.

This course is currently being subsidised by the college so that you can enrol for the course free of charge.

Courses are only free to people who have lived in England for the past 3 yrs, are aged 19 years or over and are not currently accessing any other government funded training.
Please note there is a non-completion fee of £85 if you have to be withdrawn from the course.

  • Unit 1: Dealing with Routine and Non-Routine Waste
  • Unit 2: Health and Safety for the Cleaning and Support Services Industry
Part B
  • Unit 3: Working With Customers and Others in the Cleaning and Support Services Industry
  • Unit 4: Infection Control, RIDDOR and COSHH in Cleaning Settings
Part C
  • Unit 5: Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management
  • Unit 6: Cleaning of interiors and washrooms

Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
